A Delhi court has ordered the city police to immediately restore security for the four women wrestlers who have accused former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment. This comes after the Resident Doctors' Association of Delhi AIIMS, RML Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College, and Indira Gandhi Hospital called off their 11-day strike following the Supreme Court's intervention to provide security to healthcare workers across the country. The court also directed the DCP, New Delhi to submit a detailed report on the withdrawal of security from the wrestlers, whose testimony is due on August 23.
In a significant ruling, the Supreme Court has granted bail to former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the CBI and ED cases against him for his alleged role in the Delhi excise policy matter. The court noted the extensive delays and the unlikelihood of a speedy trial, in addition to the fact that Sisodia has been incarcerated for around 17 months. It found no error in the judgments of the trial court and Delhi High Court, but disagreed with their assessment that Sisodia was responsible for the delay.

The court has directed for his release from custody, stating that the allegations against him were not grounded in fact. According to the FIR, the news portal is alleged to have received funds from China to disrupt the sovereignty of India, but the court found no evidence to support this claim.
Fali S Nariman, a prominent figure in the Indian judiciary, passed away at the age of 95 on Wednesday. Nariman was known for his involvement in several landmark legal proceedings that shaped modern India, including the Kesavananda Bharati case. He is survived by his son and former Supreme Court judge Rohinton Nariman, daughter Anaheeta, and daughter-in-law Sanaya. His funeral will be held on Thursday in New Delhi.
