The President of Zimbabwe, ED Mnangagwa, will be launching a comprehensive national action plan tomorrow to address the widespread issue of drug and substance abuse in the country. The plan, developed by a multi-sectoral committee, aims to coordinate efforts towards supply reduction, demand reduction, treatment, and rehabilitation, as well as policy and legal enforcement. With the launch coinciding with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, it highlights the government's commitment to mitigating the negative impact of drug and substance abuse on national security, public health, and social stability.
