Above the rumours suggesting their first child would be born in the US, the power couple Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni Konidela have confirmed that they will be welcoming their baby in India. The vice chairperson of CSR at Apollo Hospitals, Upasana, is looking forward to having her child delivered in her home country, surrounded by the familiar hospital staff she has known for years. Ram Charan and Upasana had announced their pregnancy in December 2022 and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child.
The Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar has launched a new team called 'Shakti Bahini' consisting of 40 female officers to provide protection and aid to women during the Durga Puja festivities. Led by Commissioner S Devdatta Singh, this specially-trained team will respond immediately to any incidents of harassment and also assist lost children. The initiative comes as an added effort by the police to ensure the safety of pandal hoppers, particularly women, during the popular festival. Enhanced security measures, including the deployment of the Shakti Bahini team, are being taken to make the puja experience enjoyable and safe for everyone.
As the nine-day festival of Navratrai began, the Uttar Pradesh government launched the fifth edition of Mission Shakti, an initiative aimed at empowering women regarding their safety and self-reliance. This edition will focus on tackling cyber crimes against women and will involve various government departments to address a wide range of issues. It will also introduce a women's health helpline and promote women entrepreneurs through a dedicated space at the Women Police powerline intersection.
