The highly anticipated 70th National Film Awards announced Nithya Menen and Manasi Parekh as the winners for the Best Actress in a Leading Role Award for their outstanding performances in Thiruchitrambalam and Kutch Express respectively. Thiruchitrambalam, a sleeper hit, broke box office records and received critical acclaim for Nithya's and Dhanush's performances, while Kutch Express, produced and starring Manasi, tells the empowering story of a woman's journey to self-discovery after her husband's infidelity. Both leading ladies have also been recognized for their exceptional acting skills at other award ceremonies.
