Veteran Bangladesh batter Mushfiqur Rahim is expected to miss the second ODI against Afghanistan on November 9 due to a fractured finger. This comes as a huge blow for the team as they aim to bounce back after their comprehensive defeat in the first ODI. Afghan spinner Allah Ghazanfar, who took career best figures of 6/26, has been praised by captain Hashmatullah Shahidi.
According to the national selection panel, veteran cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim will miss the upcoming Test series against New Zealand due to a fracture he sustained while keeping during the ODI series against Afghanistan. The injury is expected to take 4 to 6 weeks to heal, making him unavailable for the Test series as well as the first leg of the West Indies all-format series. No replacement has been named for Mushfiqur in the ongoing Afghanistan ODIs, and the squad for the West Indies tour is yet to be announced.
