In an effort to ensure faster delivery of postal services, the Indian Postal Department has introduced a new initiative of allotting a unique postal code, known as a PIN or ZIP code, to each district, village, town, and city in India. With the country having 29 states, 720 districts, over 8200 cities and towns, and approximately 6 lakh villages, this move promises to streamline postal services and make them more efficient. This step has been taken to make the postal system more responsive and customer-friendly, along with reducing the time taken for delivery. Now, every Indian citizen can receive their postal deliveries in a timely and hassle-free manner.
