The Brahmin community in Jamshedpur came together to celebrate Lord Shri Parshuram's birth anniversary with a grand family gathering and Mahajutan at Bistupur Gopal Maidan. The event, attended by over 25 thousand Brahmin families, featured rituals, discourses, and a musical evening with renowned Bhojpuri singers. The occasion also saw the honoring of Brahmins who have made significant contributions to society.
In the late 19th century, missionary Robert Caldwell propagated the idea that Brahmins were evil north Indian invaders who oppressed the "pure Dravidian race" in South India. This false equation gained traction among other scholars and even the Governor of Madras, Mountstuart Elphinstone Grant Duff, who used it to launch a hate speech against Brahmins. However, recent studies have revealed Caldwell's biased scholarship and tall claims, further exposing the deep-rooted prejudice against Brahmins in South India.
The YSRCP candidates offered Purnahuti at the conclusion of Rajasyamala Yagam in Ongole, showing their respect for the Brahmin community and highlighting Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's initiatives for their welfare. They reminded the community members of the government's efforts in reinstating the Mirasi system and providing funds for temple pujas, and urged them to vote for the party for continued development and support in the future.
