The National Medical Commission has directed all states and Union Territories to review the seat-leaving bond policy for postgraduate medical students, in order to address mental health concerns. The move comes after the NMC's anti-ragging committee recommended that the policy be reconsidered and possibly abolished. The commission also suggested that states consider alternative measures, such as debarring students from admission for a year, to prevent vacant postgraduate medical seats.
