Inspired by their devotion to the deity Brahma Baba, the community abstains not just from meat but also alcohol, onions, and garlic. With only days left until the first phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, the political campaigns are in full swing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bihar after recently campaigning in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to hold a public rally and road show in Tamil Nadu before the April 19 polling. Meanwhile, voters in 102 constituencies across 21 states and Union Territories, including Aurangabad, Gaya, Jamui, and Nawada in Bihar, will participate in the first round of voting.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome at the Gaya airport in Bihar, where he was greeted by Governor Rajendra Arlekar and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He will be further accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha as he travels to Aurangabad in a helicopter and later, to Begusarai in the evening. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated new buildings of IIT Patna and the permanent campus of IIM Bodh Gaya, along with other premier academic institutions in Bihar. The facilities at IIT Patna include a central library, auditorium, lecture hall, students' activity center, and hostels. The newly developed campus of IIM Bodh Gaya spans over 60,000 square meters and was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore. PM Modi, along with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, virtually attended the event.
