The Indian postal department has implemented a new system to ensure faster delivery of postal services. This includes a six-digit Postal Index Number (PIN) or pin code, which is assigned to every district, village, town, and city. The first three digits of the code represents the sorting district, while the last two digits represent the delivery office within the sorting district. This new system, known as the Postal Code System, has been adopted by India Post and is set to improve the efficiency of postal services in the country.
