A Romanian court has ruled that Andrew and Tristan Tate, who were detained in Bucharest on charges of sex offences in the UK, can be extradited to Britain. The brothers, who have a significant following on social media, have been released from custody but will remain under judicial control in Romania until the conclusion of their trial for human trafficking charges. Bedfordshire Police confirmed that they had obtained an arrest warrant for the brothers in connection with allegations of rape and human trafficking. In addition to the UK charges, the brothers are also facing separate investigations in Romania for similar offences.
A group of women have called for an inquiry into the Crown Prosecution Service after it failed to prosecute self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate for alleged sexual assaults. Despite the women reporting Tate to the police almost a decade ago, the case was dropped in 2019. The women, who are now pursuing civil action, are speaking out following the arrest of Tate and his brother in Romania on rape and human trafficking charges. They claim that if the CPS had done its job, Tate would not have been able to flee to Romania.
Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, two British influencers, have been taken into custody in Romania on suspicion of committing sexual offenses in the UK. The brothers, who deny all charges, will be extradited back to the UK as part of a human trafficking probe. The decision by Romanian authorities to honor the UK arrest warrants was praised by Tate and his legal team, but welcomed by the victims' representatives.
